CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Tuesday, 10-17-06 and Wednesday 10-18-06. BLANTON MUSEUM OF ART, 1900 Speedway Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was observed riding his bicycle and attempting to do stunts on several of the benches located around the building. During the investigation, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and escorted from the area. Occurred on: 10-17-06, at 10:07 PM JESTER DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor / Criminal Mischief / Criminal Trespass: A UT student was reported as threatening employees and spitting. Prior to the arrival of the officer the subject had left the area. During the investigation, the store manager informed the officer of the following events. A student entered her store and placed an order to go. After placing his order the subject began pounding the cash register with his fists. This caused the register to stop working. The subject then walked over to the condiment area and spat on the ketchup dispenser. The manager provided the name of the subject to the officer since he had completed his purchase using Bevo Bucks. As the investigation continued, officers located the subject and he was positively identified by the stores employees. The officer had detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject's breath and discovered that he was under the legal age of 21. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and told not to return the store. Since he had been consuming alcohol, he received a field release citation for the Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. Criminal mischief charges are still pending at this time. Occurred on: 10-18-06, at 3:16 AM. PARKING LOT 115, 1600 Block East 20th Street Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The passenger window of a blue Toyota was discovered broken out. During the investigation, officers discovered that the faceplate from an in-dash stereo was missing. The officer was able to contact the owner of the vehicle. She stated that she was out of town and would inventory the vehicle later. Loss value: unknown. Discovered: 10-18-06, 2:30 AM. PERRY-CASTANEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Theft: A silver Verizon cellular telephone was stolen from the 5th floor of the library after being left unattended. Loss value: $50.00. Occurred: 10-11-06, between 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM. TEXAS SWIM CENTER, 1900 Red River Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping in the alcove located on the east side of the building. During the investigation, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and escorted from the area. Occurred on: 10-17-06, at 3:01 AM. UNIVERSITY ROWING CENTER, 300 Hearn Street Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered inside the complex by a UT staff member. The staff member requested that the subject to the leave. The subject began using profane language towards the staff member and refused to leave the area. During the investigation, the area was searched and a subject matching the description of the subject was located east of Rowing Center. The subject informed the officer that he had left the area when requested and denied harassing anyone. The officer issued the subject a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on: 10-17-06, at 6:27 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 22 alarm calls, 3 medical calls, 1 collision report, 3 suspicious activity reports, and 5 unsecured door reports between 10-017-06 and 10-18-06.
