CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Thursday, 11-02-06 and Friday 11-03-06. LONGHORNS FIGHT'N BACK Congratulations to Monalisa Olarte, our latest recipient of the Hungry for Justice Program. Ms. Olarte observed a suspicious subject inside the bicycle racks located near Jester dormitory. She contacted the UT Police Department when she realized the subject was stealing a bicycle. That telephone call led to the apprehension and arrest of a known bicycle thief Patrick Brown. You could be the next reipient. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Assault: Two UT students reported being assaulted by another UT student inside a forth floor dormitory room after getting into an argument. Occurred on: 11-03-06, at 2:43 AM. MONCRIEF-NEUHAUS CENTER, 2015 San Jacinto Theft: Two UT students reported having cash taken from their wallets after having left the wallets unsecured and unattended inside the weight room. Loss value: $240.00. Occurred on: 11-02-06, between 6:45 AM and 7:25 AM. PARKING LOT 111, 2200 Block Salina Aggravated Robbery: An unknown subject approached a UT staff member that was sitting inside her vehicle. The staff member rolled down her window with the unknown subject began asking for directions. When the staff member explained that she did not know the location, the unknown subject pulled up the sleeve of her jacket revealing a knife. The staff member handed the unknown subject her purse. When the subject grabbed the purse, the staff member quickly put her car into drive and sped from the parking lot. The staff member observed the unknown subject leaving the area in a red 1990 Mazda Hatchback. The suspect is described as: Black Female, 40-50 years of age, 5'-7", 150 lbs., with brown hair pulled back into a ponytail. The suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. Loss value: $140.00. Occurred on: 11-02-06, at 3:46 PM. PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, 510 East 23rd Street Theft: A black fanny pack containing $25.00 in cash, various credit cards and personal identification cards was stolen after being placed under a seat. During the investigation, the fanny pack was located in an upper seating section. The owner stated that only the cash was missing from the fanny pack. Loss value: $25.00. Occurred on: 11-01-06. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 36 alarm calls, 2 medical calls, 1 collision report, 3 suspicious activity reports, and 8 unsecured door reports between 11-02-06 and 11-03-06.
