CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Wednesday, 12-13-06 and Thursday 12-14-06. DEEP EDDY PARK, 401 Deep Eddy Ave Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A UT police officer detected the wafting odor of burning marijuana as he was driving through the Colorado Apartment parking lots. The officer followed the distinct pungent odor and observed a non-UT subject sitting at a picnic table. The subject never observed the officer as he approached, but made a furtive move to remove an item from the table. During the investigation, the subject admitted to the officer that he had been smoking a "roach" which he had removed from the picnic table. The officer located the ruminants of half-smoked marijuana cigarette. The officer issued the subject a field release citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Occurred on: 12-13-06, at 5:00 PM. KINSOLVING DORMITORY, 2605 Whitis Ave Harassment: A UT staff member reported receiving several unwanted harassing telephone calls and emails from his ex-wife. Occurred on: 12-13-06, at 10:03 AM. PERRY-CASTANEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Theft: A black and silver colored Dell laptop computer was stolen after it was left unattended on top of a study cubicle located on the fourth floor. The former computer owner stated that she had left her computer, wallet, and backpack at the cubicle while she went to the restroom. During the investigation, the officer was informed that an unknown subject had attempted to sit down at that unoccupied cubicle then left. The unknown subject was described as a white male wearing a jacket. Loss value: $1,000.00. Occurred on: 12-13-06, at 11:51 PM. TRINITY PARKING GARAGE, 1815 Trinity Harassment: A UT staff member reported receiving several harassing telephone calls that became alarming. Occurred on: 12-13-06, between 2:45 PM and 3:30 PM. WOOLDRIDGE HALL, 600 West 24th Street Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed attempting to start a grass fire near the building. During the investigation, the officer discovered that the subject had been issued 7 prior criminal trespass warnings. The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 12-13-06, at 3:25 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 32 alarm calls, 1 medical call, 1 suspicious activity report, and 3 unsecured door reports between 12-13-06 and 12-14-06.
