Reported on: 12-14-06, at 8:00 AM Crime Prevention Tip: At times some thieves may be bold and brazen in order to create their own opportunities to commit a theft. Other thieves are more dependant upon the opportunities allowed by the former owners of the stolen property. But once the theft is committed the thief will attempt to the leave the area quickly to avoid detection. This is true in this case. The thief was not familiar with the area and had a hard time entering into the stairwell, drawing attention to himself. ERNEST COCKRELL JR.
