CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Monday, 12-18-06 and Tuesday, 12-19-06. CHEMICAL PETROLEUM ENGINEERING BUILDING, 200 East Dean Keeton Theft: A blue Jansport backpack was stolen from a shared office located on the 4th floor. The former owner of the backpack stated he discovered the contents of his backpack had been dumped onto his desk. Loss value: $20.00. Occurred: between 12-15-06, at 8:00 PM and 12-18-06, at 8:00 AM. GEORGE I. SANCHEZ BUILDING, 1912 Speedway Suspicious Person: A non-UT subject was observed looking into rooms throughout the building. When the subject was stopped, the subject informed the officer that he was looking for a drug study. The subject was given a verbal criminal trespass warning and escorted from the area. Occurred on: 12-18-06, at 9:56 AM. JESSE H. JONES COMMUNICATIONS CENTER BUILDING A, 2504-A Whitis Ave. Theft: A JVC VCR was stolen from an unsecured third floor classroom. Loss value: $400.00. Occurred: between 12-15-06, at 3:00 PM and 12-18-06, at 9:19 AM. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Criminal Mischief: Chalk markings were discovered on a wall near a pool table where three unknown males had been playing prior to the discovery. During the investigation, the officer learned that the markings were not there. The unknown males were described as: Hispanic males, 5'-7" to 5'-11" in height, and were last seen wearing baggy blue jeans and T-shirts. Loss value: $50.00. Discovered: 12-18-06, at 7:46 PM. 1700 BLOCK RED RIVER Graffiti: A UT police officer discovered twenty-six different instances of graffiti in the general area of Centennial Park between the Nursing School and the Penick-Allison Tennis Center. The graffiti consisted of black, white and silver colored aerosol spray paint. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Discovered: 12-18-06, at 5:00 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 34 alarm calls, 2 medical calls, 3 suspicious activity reports, and 4 unsecured door reports between 12-18-06 and 12-19-06.
