CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Friday, 01-05-07 and Monday, 01-08-07. O'HENRY HALL, 601 Colorado Street Criminal Trespass: A non-UT was discovered rolled up in a doormat sleeping. During the investigation, the officer issued the subject a criminal trespass warning and attempted to escort the subject from the area. The officer warned the subject several times that he was trespassing on UT property and needed to leave. After each warning the subject would refuse to leave. The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 01-06-07, at 6:10 AM. 200 BLOCK WEST 6th STREET Driving While Intoxicated: A black Ford 2-door vehicle was observed traveling west on 6th Street without its headlamps illuminated. When the vehicle was stopped, the officer detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the driver's breath. The driver's eyes were bloodshot. The officer asked the driver if he had been drinking. The driver informed the officer that he had been at the Whisky Bar and had consumed several beers and mixed drinks. During the investigation, the officer administered the Standardized Field Sobriety tests and observed several clues that the driver was intoxicated. The subject was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 01-06-07, at 2:45 AM. 300 BLOCK WEST MARTIN LUTHER KING BLVD. Driving While Intoxicated: A blue Jeep was observed traveling westbound in the eastbound traffic lanes of MLK. When the vehicle was stopped, the officer detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the driver's breath. The officer also noted that the driver's eyes were bloodshot and watery. The officer asked the driver if he had drunk any alcohol. The driver replied that he had consumed "one beer." During the investigation, the officer administered the Standardized Field Sobriety tests to the driver and observed several clues that indicated the driver was intoxicated. The driver was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 01-06-07, at 2:45 AM. 2500 BLOCK SAN JACINTO Possession of Alcohol by a Minor: A white colored Toyota was observed running a stop sign at the intersection of 23rd Street and San Jacinto. During the traffic stop the officer observed an unopened 6-pack of Keystone beer on the backseat floorboard. The subject was issued a field release citation for Possession of Alcohol by a Minor. The alcohol was confiscated. Occurred on: 01-07-07, at 12:01 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 55 alarm calls, one medical emergency call, and 14 unsecured door reports between 01-05-07 and 01-08-07.
