CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Thursday, 01-11-07 and Friday, 01-12-07. * * * * * BOLO BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR * * * * * The above suspect has been handled by UTPD for thefts out of Gregory Gym in 2000, 2001, and 2007. He is known to enter Gregory Gym as a guest, then enter the men’s locker room and steal credit cards, money and cell phones. Currently this department has an active warrant for his arrest. If he is seen on campus, please contact UTPD at 471-4441. COLORADO APARTMENTS, 2501 Lake Austin Blvd Criminal Mischief: A UT student discovered scratch marks on to the hoods of his Toyota sedan and Ford van. Est. Damage: Unknown at this time. Discovered: 01-11-07, at 4:30 PM. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Theft: A UT staff member reported the theft of his wallet from a secured locker located inside the 1st floor staff locker room. The former owner stated that the wallet contained $150.00 in cash, state issued driver's license, and numerous credit cards. During the investigation, the officer learned that there were 7 unauthorized charges made at local area businesses. As the investigation continued the officer received a report of a suspicious person at one of the businesses. The sales clerk stated that a black male entered his store and attempted to make a purchase with a credit card. The subject became frustrated and left the store without the credit card. The name on the credit card was that of the staff member who had reported the theft from Gregory Gym. The suspect is described as: black male, light complexion, 180 lbs., 5'-8", with a stocky build. Loss value: $1,063.34. Occurred on: 01-11-06, at 6:51 PM Crime Prevention Tip: SEE BOLO AND ATTACHED PHOTO EAST MALL, 2300 Block Speedway Theft: A UT student stated that she had removed a 1ct. diamond ring from her left ring finger and placed the ring on a bench beside her while talking on her cellular telephone. The former owner of the sparkling bauble began walking around the East Mall, continuing her telephone conversation with the individual that had given her the bauble. Upon returning to the bench, the former owner discovered the property was gone. Loss value: $1,000.00. Occurred on: 01-11-06, at 7:29 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 28 alarm calls, one medical emergency call, and 7 unsecured door reports between 01-11-07 and 01-12-07.
