BELMONT HALL, 2109 San Jacinto Blvd. Attempted Burglary of Building: An unknown tool was used to damage several doors and a lock located on the seventh floor. During the investigation, the officer discovered one door had been split due to the amount of pressure used in a failed attempt to open the door. An inventory was conducted of the offices affected. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Occurred: between 01-20-07, at 7:30 AM and 01-21-07, at 6:00 PM. 200 BLOCK WEST 6th STREET Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was observed walking in the middle of the roadway and narrowly missed being hit by two passing vehicles. The subject was located supporting a "tilt-walled parking garage." During the investigation, the officer detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject's breath and noted that the subject's eyes were bloodshot, watery, and glassy. The subject admitted to the officer that he was unfamiliar with the 6th Street area or where his friends were. When asked how much alcohol he had consumed, the subject stated four…too many. The subject lost his balance and needed to regain his support of the wall. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 01-19-07, at 12:07 AM. 200 BLOCK SPEEDWAY Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol by a Minor: A black Suzuki SUV was observed driving eastbound in the 100 block West 21st Street and failing to stop at the intersection of 21st Street and Speedway. During the investigation, the driver stated that his wife had removed his driver's license from his wallet earlier in the day. The officer soon discovered that the subject's driver's license had indeed been removed from his wallet-by a judge. The subject was taken into custody for Driving While License Invalid and transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 01-23-07, at 12:19 AM. 2300 GUADALUPE Disorderly Conduct (Fighting): Two non-UT subjects were reported fighting on a Capital Metro bus after one subject had made several offending comments to a group of females and a second subject told him to "shut up!" During the investigation, the officers learned that the fight started after the first subject confronted a group of females about their comments made towards the homeless and the fact that the homeless were riding the bus. The second subject reacted to the animated exchange of words the first subject was directing towards the females and told him to shut up. The first subject turned his attention towards the subject who was interceding and slapped him across the face. Both subjects were issued field release citations for DOC Fighting.
