CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Tuesday, 02-20-07 and Thursday, 02-22-07. ART BUILDING, 2301 San Jacinto Blvd. Harassment: A UT student reported receiving 10 harassing and threatening e-mails from an unknown subject. During the investigation, the officer learned that the student's new boyfriend had also been receiving similar e-mails as well. Several of the e-mails documented certain events that had just transpired or were ongoing. Occurred: On going since 2-15-07. FRANK ERWIN SPECIAL EVENTS CENTER, 1701 Red River Public intoxication: During the Texas v.s. Texas Tech basketball game a UT student attempted to enter the building without a valid ticket. After being turned away at the main entrance the subject attempted to push his way past an usher assigned to the entrance. The subject was stopped by the UT police officer. During the investigation, the officer detected a moderate odor of alcohol on the subject's breath and observed that the subject was slurring his speech. The officer noted that the subject's demeanor would quickly change from calm and indifferent to agitated, then the subject would begin to cry. During many of the subject's tirades he would scream profanities and lash out, emulating a Texas Tech coach. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 2-20-07, at 9:00 PM. GEORGE I. SANCHEZ BUILDING, 1912 Speedway Criminal Trespass Warning: A UT staff member observed a non-UT subject lingering around the southwest exterior doors as the staff member was entering the building. The staff member observed the subject enter the building and begin to wander the halls looking into trash cans. During the investigation, the officers located the subject. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and escorted from the area. Occurred on: 2-21-07, at 6:56 AM. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Terrorist Threat: A UT staff member was assaulted by a UT student during an intramural basketball game. The staff member ejected the student for arguing with the game's officials. The student then "bumped" the official / staff member while threatening to do bodily harm. After making the threat the student told the staff member that he would be waiting for him outside the gym. The student was escorted from the building by additional on-duty staff members. Occurred on: 2-18-07, at 10:14 PM. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 210 East 21st Street Theft: A white Haro mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the southwest side of the building after being secured self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $250.00. Occurred on: 2-20-07, between 9:15 PM and 11:00 PM. WILL C. HOGG BUILDING, #2 East Mall Theft: A Dell laptop computer and black carrying case were stolen after being left unattended inside an unsecured classroom. Loss value: $500.00. Occurred on: 2-20-07, between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 68 alarm calls, 4 suspicious activity calls, 3 suspicious persons calls, 2 medical emergencies, and 5 unsecured buildings between 02-20-07 and 02-22-07.
