CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Friday, 03-09-07 and Monday, 03-12-07. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was observed sitting on the exterior of the building near the doors. During the investigation, the subject informed the officers that he was looking for friends. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and escorted from the area. Occurred on: 3-10-07, at 3:20 AM. TEXAS SWIM CENTER, 1900 Red River Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject attempted to gain entry into a restricted area after being denied entry twice by UT staff members. During the investigation, the subject stated that she needed access to the pool since her brother was in the swim meet and her father was a coach. The officers explained to the subject that the area was restricted and that access was limited. Occurred on: 3-10-07, at 5:32 PM. 300 BLOCK EAST 21st STREET Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor / Fictitious License: A UT student was observed staggering and stumbling next to the roadway. During the investigation, the officers detected a strong odor of alcohol on the subject's breath. The student would sway back and forth while standing. As the investigation continued, the officers observed that the subject had a second license in the subject's wallet and removed his correct Texas license. The second license was determined to be a fictitious driver's license. The student blurted out that he uses the fake license to purchase alcohol and drink at the bars along 6th Street. The subject was issued a field release citation for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor and Possession of a Fictitious License. Occurred on: 3-10-07, at 2:30 AM. 2400 BLOCK NUECES Theft: A non-UT subject was observed walking at a very fast pace carrying 4 cans of beer. The subject observed a police officer and attempted to walk even faster. During the investigation, the officer observed the subject crouch down beside an RV and drop the cans of beer and attempt to hide. The subject was stopped and the officer discovered two additional subjects in the RV with an open case of beer. As the investigation continued, the officer learned that a local area business had three cases of beer stolen. The subjects were identified and the alcohol was confiscated as evidence. The manager of the business was not able to meet with the officer at the time. Charges are pending. Occurred on: 3-11-07, at 4:45 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 76 alarm calls, 8 suspicious person calls, 4 suspicious activity calls, and 18 unsecured buildings between 03-09-07 and 03-12-07.
