CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Monday, 03-19-07 and Tuesday, 03-20-07. ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE The University of Texas Police Department is seeking your assistance in locating the owners of the following property that was taken in or around the San Jacinto Residence Hall: Blue GT mountain bicycle Silver Marin (Gary Fisher) mountain bicycle Yellow Raleigh mountain bicycle These bicycles were recovered after a theft suspect was taken into custody. * * * * LONGHORNS FIGHTING BACK * * * * * While we are on the subject of Bicycle Thefts, the University of Texas Police Department just finished delivering a Free Pizza to this year's First Recipient of the Hungry For Justice Program. Congratulations. ALMETRIS DUREN RESIDENCE HALL, 2624 Whitis Ave. Theft: A UT student reported the theft of her driver's license and a photocopy of her passport. During the investigation, the officer learned that these items had been sent through the United States mail in a sealed envelope. When the student retrieved the envelope from her mailbox, the envelope had been opened and then resealed. Discovered: 3-19-07, at 4:10 PM. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Theft: A black backpack, containing Rainbow sandals and a UTID was stolen after being left unattended along the south wall by the third floor basketball courts. Loss value: $50.00. Occurred on: 3-19-07, between 7:15 PM and 8:15 PM. Crime Prevention Tip: Welcome Back from Spring Break everyone. The thieves missed y'all and the opportunities to apply their trade inside the gym. Take the time to secure your property inside one of the many lockers that are provided by Rec Sports. If not, leave your property inside your dormitory room or at home. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Theft: A black and red Schwinn mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the west side of the building after being secured with a combination lock and cable. Loss value: $200.00. Occurred: between 3-09-07 and 3-17-07, at 1:00 PM. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Assault by Threat: A UT student reported hearing a loud noise outside her room on the 1st floor. The student left her dorm room and asked the three subjects in the hallway to quiet down. One subject found the student's request to be offensive and became upset. An argument ensued with name calling and heated words. As the argument intensified the suspect charged towards the student with nails unsheathed. The suspect was restrained and the student went back into her dormitory room. During the investigation, the student stated that she felt threatened by the other subject's actions. Charges are pending. Occurred on: 3-07-07, at 12:30 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 31 alarm calls, 2 suspicious person calls, 3 suspicious activity calls, one lighting survey, and 5 unsecured buildings between 03-19-07 and 03-20-07.
