CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Wednesday, 03-28-07 and Thursday, 03-29-07. BELLMONT HALL, 2109 San Jacinto Blvd. Criminal Trespass / Possession of Marijuana: A non-UT subject was discovered walking the pedestrian ramps located on the southwest portion of the building. During the investigation, the officer discovered that the subject had received a prior written criminal trespass warning for the same area. The subject was taken into custody for criminal trespass. During a search of the subject the officer located a clear plastic baggie that contained a small amount of marijuana. The subject was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 3-28-07, at 9:51 PM. CHILLING STATION #4, 707 East Dean Keeton Suspicious Activity: A UT staff member observed a small group of students attempting to scale a fence. During the investigation, the officer located the group of students and learned that they had attempted to scale the fence to enter into a restricted area to retrieve a Frisbee. The officer explained to the students about high voltage and the risks of serious bodily injury. Occurred on: 3-28-07, at 9:35 PM. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Public Intoxication: A UT staff member observed a UT student staggering and displaying several challenges while attempting to maintain a straight course to his dormitory. During the investigation, the officer located the student and detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject's breath. The student's speech was very slurred and he spoke with a thick tongue. The student displayed other challenges that involved his balancing and sitting abilities. After the student sat down the officer requested the student's driver's license. The officer had to instruct the student in how to successfully remove his ID from the confines of a wallet. Due to the student's inability to complete simple tasks, repeated apologies for his actions, the odor of alcohol and lack of motor skills, the subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 3-29-07, at 2:10 AM. NURSING SCHOOL, 1710 Red River Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping near the southwest corner of the building. The subject stated that her vehicle had broken down and that she had hurt her leg. During the investigation, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and escorted from the campus area. Occurred on: 3-29-07, at 4:52 AM. MOORE-HILL DORMITORY, 214 East 21st Street Criminal Mischief: UT police officers responded to a door alarm located on the northeast portion of the building. Upon arrival, the officers discovered that the door switch had been ripped apart. Loss value: $200.00. Reported on: 3-28-07, at 8:08 AM. 2300 BLOCK GUADALUPE Criminal Trespass Warning (2 Counts): Two non-UT subjects were observed aggressively panhandling two unidentified females. The officer observed one subject grab one of the females as she attempted to board a Capital Metro bus. The other non-UT subject was observed blocking the sidewalk. During the investigation both subjects were stopped and issued criminal trespass warnings and escorted from the campus area. Occurred on: 3-28-07, at 10:00 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 26 alarm calls, 2 suspicious person calls, 5 suspicious activity calls, one collision report, 2 medical emergency calls, and 4 unsecured buildings between 03-28-07 and 03-29-07.
