Report for 06/04/2007


CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Friday, 06-01-07 and Monday, 06-04-07. PARKING LOT 115, 2000 Block Leona Street Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed approaching individuals and asking them for handouts. During the investigation, the officer soon discovered that the subject had been issued three prior written criminal trespass warnings. The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 6-02-07, at 7:13 PM. UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 1616 Guadalupe Assist Outside Agency / Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered drinking a beer from a 40-oz. glass bottle. During the investigation, the officer learned that the subject was not employed by the University of Texas, or enrolled as a student. As the investigation continued, the officer soon discovered that the subject had an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant. The subject was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking. In addition to other law enforcement action taken the subject was issued a criminal trespass warning. Occurred on: 6-03-07, at 1:09 AM. 300 BLOCK EAST 21st STREET Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor / Failure to Identify: A UT student was observed sitting on the curb holding his head. During the investigation, the officer detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject's breath and saw that the subject had an extreme physical reaction to the overconsumption of alcohol. The subject provided the officer with a name and date of birth. As the investigation continued, the officer soon learned that the subject had given her a false name and date of birth. The subject was issued a field release citation for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor once his true identity and date of birth were verified. Occurred on: 6-03-07, at 2:55 AM. 600 BLOCK COLORADO STREET Driving While Intoxicated: A silver Nissan was observed stopped in the middle of the roadway for several changes of the traffic light. During the traffic investigation, the officer detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the driver's breath. The driver's speech was slow and mumbled. As the investigation, continued, the officer administered the Standardized field Sobriety tests. The driver displayed several clues that indicated she was intoxicated. The driver was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated, and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 6-03-07, at 2:25 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 102 alarm calls, 4 suspicious persons calls, 2 medical calls, 1 collision report, and 25 unsecured buildings between 06-01-07 and 06-04-07.
