CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Wednesday, 06-27-07 and Thursday, 06-28-07. BELMONT HALL, 2109 San Jacinto Blvd. Burglary of Building: A second floor office was discovered unsecured and several personal items were found missing from within an interior office. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Occurred between: 6-25-07, at 5:30 PM and 6-26-07, at 7:55 AM. HOGG MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM, 2300 Whitis Ave Theft: A Compaq laptop computer was stolen from the stage area of the auditorium after the former owner left the property unattended. Loss value: $800.00. Occurred on: 6-27-07, between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM. JESTER EAST DORMITORY, 203 East 21st Street Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (2 Counts): A UT police officer observed two non-UT subjects approaching the west exterior doors to the dormitory. When both subjects saw the officer standing there, they both turned and attempted to run away. Due to their impaired balance, the attempt to flee was short-lived. During the investigation, both subjects told the officer that they were scared because they knew that "the cops were out." As the investigation continued, the officer detected a very strong odor of alcohol on both subjects' breath. The officer noted that both subjects were under the legal age of 21. Both subjects were issued a field release citation for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. Occurred on: 6-28-07, at 4:48 AM. Crime Prevention Tip: The University of Texas Police Department is manned 24 / 7 / 365, so we are always out and about. UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 1616 Guadalupe Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was observed attempting to conceal himself behind a low retaining wall. During the investigation, the officer discovered that the subject was not a current student or a UT employee. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and was escorted from the area. Occurred on: 6-28-07, at 3:15 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 53 alarm calls, 2 suspicious activity calls, 4 suspicious persons reports, 1 medical call, and 8 unsecured buildings between 06-27-07 and 06-28-07.
