CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Tuesday, 07-24-07 and Wednesday, 07-25-07. * * * * * BOLO * * * * * Theft Suspect: The University of Texas Police Department is currently investigating two laptop computer thefts that occurred inside the Texas Union. The suspect is described as: White female, 19 to 25 years of age, with shoulder length curly blond hair, worn in a ponytail. She is described as "very attractive." She was last seen wearing black colored clothing. If you have seen this subject, contact the University of Texas Police Department at: 512-471-4441. ALMETRIUS DUREN HALL, 2624 Whitis Ave Criminal Mischief: A UT student was observed igniting fireworks inside the dormitory. During the investigation, the officers observed several areas where the carpet had been burned by the fireworks. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Occurred on: 7-23-07, at 11:01 PM. SAN ANTONIO PARKING GARAGE, 2420 San Antonio Street Possession of Marijuana: A non-UT subject was observed sitting beside the garage rolling a cigarette that contained a green leafy substance. The officer recognized the green leafy substance to be marijuana. The subject was startled to see a police officer standing a few feet away and attempted to conceal the rolled cigarette under his leg. The subject was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana after a 2" plastic baggie containing additional marijuana was found on his possession. The subject was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 7-24-07, at 5:15 PM. UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 1616 Guadalupe Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping on the south side of the building. During the investigation, the officer learned that the subject was not a current staff member or student at the University of Texas. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and escorted from the area. Occurred on: 7-25-07, at 1:00 AM. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Theft: An unknown subject walked up to a UT staff member who was working on his Apple Imac laptop computer. The unknown subject grabbed the computer and ran out of the building towards Guadalupe and 24th Street. The unknown subject is described as: White female, 19 to 25 years of age, with shoulder length curly blond hair, worn in a ponytail. She is described as "very attractive." She was last seen wearing black colored clothing. Loss value: $1000.00. Occurred on: 7-23-07, at 6:51 PM. Crime Prevention Tip: A similar theft occurred inside the Union on 7-11-07. The victim was sleeping and had used his laptop as a footrest. This subject is very bold in her actions. The UT Police Department is encouraging everyone to report any suspicious activity. WALTER WEBB HALL, 2500 Guadalupe Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was observed stopping pedestrians and asking them for money. During the investigation, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and escorted from the area. Occurred on: 7-24-07, at 9:15 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 66 alarm calls, 3 suspicious activity calls, 2 suspicious persons reports, and 7 unsecured buildings between 07-24-07 and 7-25-07.
