CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Monday, 07-30-07 and Tuesday, 07-31-07. * * * * * BOLO * * * * * Theft Suspect: The University of Texas Police Department is currently investigating two laptop computer thefts that occurred inside the Texas Union. The suspect is described as: White female, 19 to 25 years of age, 5'-4" / 5'-7", thin build, with shoulder length curly blond hair, worn in a ponytail. She is described as "very attractive." She was last seen wearing black colored clothing. If you have seen this subject, contact the University of Texas Police Department at: 512-471-4441. ARNO NOWOTNY BUILDING, 709 East Martin Luther King Blvd. Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping near the south side of the building. During the investigation, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and escorted from the area. Occurred on: 7-31-07, at 4:12 AM. FACILITIES SERVICES, 1500 Manor Road Theft: A UT staff member observed two unknown subjects loading scrap metal into a white Ford truck. Both unknown subjects left the area prior to the arrival of the police officers. The unknown subjects were described as: White male, 50 years of age, 5'-11", 155 lbs., with salt-and-pepper hair. He was last seen wearing a light blue plaid shirt. The second unknown subject is described as: White female, 40 years of age, 5'-6", 160 lbs., with blond hair (worn in a ponytail). She was last seen wearing a dark blue T-shirt and white shorts. JOHNSON WILDFLOWER CENTER, 4801 La Crosse Ave. Criminal Mischief: A UT staff member heard an unauthorized vehicle driving through the undeveloped portion of the property. The unknown vehicle left the area prior to the arrival of the UT police officer. During the investigation, the officer discovered that several varieties of plant life had been damaged. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Occurred on: 7-30-07, at 6:29 PM. Mark your calendars, because everyone is invited to the annual National Night Out. This year's event will be held on August 7th 2007 at Jasper Park and Gregory Aquatics Center. The fun will begin at 5:00 PM with activities, lots of food, music, and door prizes. Twenty-five days until Moove-In and the beginning of the Fall 2007 semester. As time gets shorter the "to do" list grows longer, now is a good time for a few reminders: Mark all of your property with your State issued driver's license number. Remember, property thefts are the number 1 crime at UT. Look into a two-lock locking system when securing your bicycle on campus. Take a few minutes and go online and register your bicycle with UT Parking and Transportation: www.utexas.edu/parking/transportation/biking/bicycle_register.php CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 64 alarm calls, 5 suspicious activity calls, 4 suspicious persons reports, 2 medical emergencies, and 11 unsecured buildings between 07-30-07 and 7-31-07.
