Charges are pending. Occurred on: 9-28-07, at 2:30 AM. Crime Prevention Tip: Alcohol has on more than one occasion allowed us to do things that we would not have normally done sober. Alcohol has allowed us to wear that lamp shade when no one else would. Makes us invincible, indestructible, and just downright dumb. Alcohol tends to help us forget who we are, where we are, and where we need to be. Is alcohol worth it? 2600 BLOCK WHITIS AVE Theft / Assist Outside Agency: Several UT police officers observed two non-UT subjects walking away from campus pushing two bicycles and carrying several spare bicycle tires. During the investigation, the officers learned that both bicycles were registered to current UT students. The officers soon learned that one of the subjects had an outstanding outside agency warrant issued to him. The subject was taken into custody and was transported to Central Booking. Since the officers were unable to contact the owners at the time, the subject was released pending further investigation. Later in the day both registered owners of the bicycles reported the theft. Warrants are currently being obtained. Occurred on: 7-25-07, at 10:10 AM. Crime Prevention Tip: Once again I want to congratulate the UT student that took the time to contact the UT police department to report this suspicious activity seen inside the bike racks. I also want to extend these congratulations to the two UT students that took the time to register their property with Parking and Transportation. Had they not registered their property it would have been more difficult for the officers to prove ownership of the property at the time that the suspects were stopped. Great Job to everyone involved, including the officers. 2600 BLOCK WHITIS AVE Public Intoxication: A UT student appeared to be lost and confused as he attempted to maintain his balance while walking. After being stopped, the student informed the officers that he simply wanted to go home and go to bed. The subject was unable to tell the officer where he was other than somewhere at UT.
