CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Friday, 09-28-07 and Monday, 10-01-07. DKR-TEXAS MEMORIAL STADIUM, 405 East 23rd Street Theft: A non-UT subject reported the theft of his wallet while standing in line to enter the stadium. The officer learned that an unknown subject had cut into the line and then stopped, delaying everyone else from entering the stadium. As the victim was about to enter, he discovered that his wallet was missing. Upon returning home, the subject discovered that unauthorized charges had been made on several of his credit cards. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Occurred on: 9-29-07, between 1:30 PM and 1:50 PM. DKR-TEXAS MEMORIAL STADIUM, 405 East 23rd Street Public Intoxication / Evading Arrest: Two non-UT subjects were discovered inside a restricted area after the game. Both subjects made a gallant effort to avoid hearing the police officers telling them to stop. They would turn, look at the officers and continue to walk faster. Both subjects were caught and one subject attempted to fight with the officers that were taking him into custody for evading. Both subjects were found to be intoxicated. Both were transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 9-29-07, at 6:30 PM. DKR-TEXAS MEMORIAL STADIUM, 405 East 23rd Street Theft: A non-UT subject reported the theft of his wallet and various forms of personal identification. The wallet also contained several credit cards and approx. $75.00 in cash. Loss value: $90.00. Discovered on: 9-29-07, at 2:37 PM. GUADALUPE STREET GARAGE, 1616 Guadalupe Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The rear plastic window of a black Jeep was discovered unzipped by the owner of the vehicle. During an inventory of his vehicle the UT student discovered that his in-dash radio / CD / MP3 player had been stolen. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred between: 9-28-07, at 5:30 PM and 9-30-07, at 3:35 PM. JESTER EAST DORMITORY, 203 East 21st Street Possession of Marijuana / Possession of Alcohol by a Minor: UT police officers responded to a fifth floor dormitory room on a reported smell of burning marijuana. During the investigation, the officers identified two UT students inside the dormitory room. During the investigation, the officers recovered a small container that held three plastic baggies containing a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana. The officers also discovered a 1.75 liter bottle of Vodka. Both students were issued field release citations for Possession of Alcohol by a Minor and one student was issued another citation for the Possession of Marijuana. Occurred on: 9-27-07, at 8:00 PM. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Theft: A silver Sprint cellular flip telephone was stolen after being left unsecured on top of a stack of newspapers. Loss value: $50.00. Occurred on: 9-28-07, between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT staff member observed a UT student who was disoriented and needing assistance to locate her 12th floor dormitory room. During the investigation, the officers learned that the subject had consumed 3 shots and 2 12-oz cups of Vodka mixed with Sprite. Austin EMS was contacted to evaluate the student's intoxication level. The student refused transportation to a local area hospital and was released to a sober roommate. Charges are Pending. Occurred on: 9-29-07, at 1:05 AM. PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, 510 East 23rd Street Theft: Four yellow Dewalt hand drills and three chargers were stolen from an unsecured storage cart. Loss value: $260.00. Occurred between: 9-25-07, and 9-28-07 at 11:45 AM. UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 1616 Guadalupe Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was discovered passed out and obstructing the sidewalk. The subject was verbally aggressive towards the officers. During one of his many tirades, the officers detected a very strong odor of alcohol one the subject's breath. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 9-29-07, at 12:03 AM. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Theft: A green Hitachi grinder was stolen by an unknown subject, after the grinder was left unattended. The unknown subject was described as a white male wearing a blue UT shirt. Loss value: $50.00. Occurred on: 9-28-07, between 1:00 PM and 1:15 PM. 500 BLOCK EAST 23rd STREET Public Intoxication: A UT police officer discovered a red Chevy parked along the curb facing into oncoming traffic. The officer detected the odor of alcohol on the non-UT driver's breath. The driver informed the officer that he had only consumed four beers earlier in the night. The driver told another officer that he had several mixed drinks. The officers noted that the subject's eyes were blood-shot and watery. The driver was very disorientated and did not know where he lived. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 9-27-07, at 1:59 AM. 600 BLOCK COLORADO STREET Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered camping out on the west side of the building. During the investigation, the officers determined that the subject was not a current UT student or employee. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and was escorted from the property. Occurred on: 10-01-07, at 1:36 AM. 2100 BLOCK SAN JACINTO BLVD Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was observed entering into a restricted area and then attempting to scale a four foot fence. The officers found the subject supporting himself on the well placed fence. As the investigation continued, the officers detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject's breath. The subject believed that he was at 1st Street and told the officers that he was looking for his car. The subject was unaware that the transporting elixir had taken him to the 2100 block of San Jacinto. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 9-29-07, at 12:35 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 39 alarm calls, 8 suspicious activity calls, 7 suspicious persons reports, 2 collision reports, and 15 unsecured buildings between 9-28-07 and 10-01-07.
