CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Friday, 10-26-07 and Tuesday, 10-30-07. DKR-TEXAS MEMORIAL STADIUM, 405 East 23rd Street Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: During the Texas and Nebraska football game 5 UT students were discovered to have consumed alcohol prior to or during the event. All were issued field release citations for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor and were ejected from the stadium. In addition to other law enforcement actions taken all of the UT students were issued referrals to the Dean of Students Office. Occurred on 10-27-07. DKR-TEXAS MEMORIAL STADIUM, 405 East 23rd Street Possession of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT student was discovered carrying a flask in his front pants pocket. The flask contained a small amount of an alcoholic beverage. The student was issued a field release citation for Possession of Alcohol by a Minor as well as a referral to the Dena of Student's Office. The subject was ejected from the stadium. Occurred on: 10-27-07, at 4:06 PM. FACILITIES MAINTENANCE COMPLEX, 1716 Manor Road Criminal Trespass Warning / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was observed entering the complex and walking directly to a metal recycling bin. The subject was stopped and informed the officer that he needed a short piece of wire to start his disabled truck. As the investigation continued, the subject was unsure where his vehicle was or from what direction he had come. The officer soon learned that the subject had an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant. The subject was taken into custody for the warrant and was transported to Central Booking. In addition to other law enforcement actions taken, the subject was also issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred on: 10-27-07, at 10:35 AM. JESTER DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Theft: A red Mongoose mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the west side of the building after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred between: 10-26-07, at 10:00 AM and 10-28-07, at 9:45 AM. TEXAS SWIM CENTER, 1900 Red River Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping next to the southwest entrance into the building. During the investigation, the officer learned that the subject was not a current student or staff member. As the investigation continued, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and was escorted from the area. Occurred on: 10-30-07, at 12:10 AM. TRINITY PARKING GARAGE, 1815 Trinity Disorderly Conduct: A UT student was discovered sunbathing in a clothing-required restricted area. The subject was issued a field release citation for Disorderly Conduct and a referral to the Dean of Student's Office. Occurred on: 10-28-07, at 3:51 PM. 200 BLOCK 21st STREET Suspicious Activity: An unknown subject approached two UT staff members and asked them for money to repair his disabled vehicle. During the investigation, the officer learned that neither staff member gave the unknown subject his requested item. The unknown subject was described as: White male. 5'-08", thin build, with salt and pepper hair. The subject was last seen wearing dirty blue jeans and a white striped shirt. Occurred on: 10-30-07, at 3:49 AM. 200 BLOCK 21st STREET Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol by a Minor / Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor (3 Counts): A silver Saturn was observed driving past a stop sign at a high rate of speed. During the traffic investigation, the officer detected a moderate odor of alcohol on the UT student driver's breath. As the investigation continued, the officer did not detect or observe any other signs that the driver was intoxicated. The driver was issued a field release citation for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol by a Minor. Her vehicle was impounded. As the investigation continued, the officers discovered that both passengers inside the vehicle had also been consuming adult beverages and were also under the legal drinking age of 21. Both passengers were issued field release citations for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. Occurred on: 10-28-07, at 5:27 AM. 1600 BLOCK LEONA Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was observed charging patrons attending the UT football game to park in a vacant lot that was owned by the University of Texas. During the investigation, the subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the property. The subject did refund money back to several patrons that were still in the area. Occurred on: 10-27-07, at 12:33 PM. 2000 BLOCK SPEEDWAY Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping inside a parked vehicle. During the investigation, the officer was able to wake the subject up. During the investigation, the officer learned that the subject had an outstanding outside agency warrant. After being taken into custody, the officer discovered several credit cards and other forms of personal identification that were issued to other individuals. The credit cards and personal ID were confiscated and the subject was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 10-30-07, at 1:30 AM. 2800 BLOCK GUADALUPE Driving While License Invalid: A UT police officer heard the sound of squealing tires and saw a red Lincoln traveling at a high rate of speed. During the traffic investigation, the officer learned that the non-UT driver was not responding to an emergency. The driver explained that he was making faces at another driver as a "joke." As the investigation continued, the officer learned that the subject's driver's license was suspended and invalid. The subject was taken into custody for Driving While License Invalid and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 10-30-07, at 1:28 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 8 suspicious activity calls, 9 suspicious persons reports, and 16 unsecured buildings between 10-26-07 and 10-30-07.
