CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Tuesday, 10-30-07 and Friday, 11-02-07. CHEMICAL PETROLEUM ENGINEERING BUILDING, 200 East Dean Keeton Theft: A grey Dell laptop computer was removed from a secured storage cart that was stored inside a secured 2nd floor room. Loss value: $800.00. Occurred between 10-22-07, at 11:00 AM and 10-24-07, at 11:00 AM. JESTER DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Theft: A grey mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the north side of the building after being secured with a U-shaped lock. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred between: 10-26-07, at 3:00 PM and 10-27-07, at 2:00 PM. JESTER DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Theft: A silver Next mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the west side of the building after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred between: 10-31-07, at 4:00 PM and 11-01-07, at 2:19 PM. JESTER DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Public Intoxication: A UT student was discovered passed out in a pool of alcohol enriched compost. During the investigation, the officers learned that the student had consumed more then 10 adult beverages. Austin EMS treated the student at the scene for alcohol poisoning and transported her to a local area hospital for additional treatment. Occurred on: 11-01-07, at 12:15 AM. PETER T. FLAWN ACADEMIC CENTER, #2 West Mall Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered attempting to sell magazine subscriptions to passing pedestrians, while standing next to a "No Solicitation" sign. During the investigation, the subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the area. Occurred on: 10-30-07, at 5:05 PM. PRATHER DORMITORY, 305 East 21st Street Theft: A black Serfas E-Gel seat was stolen from a Diamondback mountain bicycle that was secured to a bike rack located on the west side of the building. Loss value: $50.00. Occurred on: 10-29-07, at 3:00 PM and 10-30-07, at 8:19 PM. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject approached a UT staff member and began making unwanted and inappropriate comments to her. The offended staff member contacted the UT Police Department. During the investigation, the subject was located in another portion of the building. The officers learned that the subject was not a current student or staff member. The subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the property. Occurred on: 11-01-07, at 7:45 PM. SPEEDWAY PARKING GARAGE, 105 East 27th Street Criminal Trespass Warning: Two UT students were discovered spitting on passing pedestrians from the top level of the parking garage. During the investigation, one subject was stopped at the scene as he attempted to leave the garage. The other subject was stopped a short distance from the "spit zone." As the investigation continued, both subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings for the area and were given referrals to the Dean of Student's Office. Occurred on: 10-30-07, at 4:35 PM. 1800 BLOCK RED RIVER Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed by several UT staff members stopping pedestrians and asking them for money. During the investigation, the officers soon learned that the subject had received a prior written Criminal Trespass Warning for the same area. The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 11-01-07, at 9:00 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 44 reported alarms, 8 suspicious activity calls, 5 suspicious persons reports, and 10 unsecured buildings between 10-30-07 and 11-02-07.
