Some students are currently spending long hours "cramming" for their tests. This time of the year tends to lead to sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation allows each one of us to make bad choices. There are many areas on campus that are designed for quiet studying and are primarily utilized by students. These same areas are hunting grounds for thieves looking for opportunity. A sleeping student is an ideal target for a thief. During the traffic investigation, the officer detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the driver's breath. The officer noted that the driver became very upset, and he asked why? The UT student driver explained that she had drunk too much at her company holiday party and had gotten into a fight with her boyfriend. During the investigation, the officer administered the Standardized Field Sobriety tests to the UT student driver. The subject displayed several clues that indicated that she was intoxicated including falling down. The driver was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 12-15-07, at 1:45 AM. Crime Prevention Tip of the Day: 'Tis the season to be jolly, but it is also the season to be wary of burglars, thieves, pickpockets, and other holiday grinches. Nothing can ruin the Christmas spirit faster than becoming the victim of a crime. Today there are 7 shopping days left before Christmas, and as you can see in today's issue of the Campus Watch, the thieves are out filling their Christmas wish lists as well.
