This is the easiest way to prove ownership of your property. www.utexas.edu/parking/transportation/biking/registration.html 300 BLOCK EAST MARTIN LUTHER KING BLVD Driving While Intoxicated / Possession of Marijuana: A black Nissan was observed committing several traffic violations while dragging a large piece of plastic on its back bumper. Crime Prevention Tip of the Day: Over the holidays several students received new bicycles. Each year at this time there is an increase in the number of bicycle thefts. Take a few minutes and go on-line with the Parking and Traffic website and register your bicycle. To make your property more difficult to steal, secure your property by using a two-lock locking system. This system includes a U-shaped lock that requires a flat key and a thick self-locking cable lock. With the start of the new semester dormitory, apartment, and home security should remain at the forefront. Do not always rely on your roommates or housemates in making sure your room, house, or apartment is secure. Criminals are looking for opportunity, and unlocked door is an open invitation. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 27 alarm calls, 5 suspicious activity calls, 3 suspicious person calls, and 10 unsecured door reports between 01-11-08 and 01-14-08. Contact UT Police at 471-4441 if you have any information regarding any of the above incidents or call 911 regarding suspicious persons, suspicious activities or crime. Your call may help solve or prevent a crime. Campus Watch comments should be directed to Officer Darrell Halstead at 512-232-9634 or Darrell.halstead@austin.utexas.edu .
