CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Tuesday, 03-11-08 Wednesday, 03-12-08. MAIN BUILDING, #1 South Mall Theft: Three UT staff members reported the theft of a black tote bag containing fried chicken, a plastic bag containing $525.00 in cash, and another black tote bag containing personal identification and $20.00 in cash. During the investigation the officer learned that the property had been left unattended and unsecured inside a first floor lobby area. Loss value: $625.00. Occurred on: 3-11-08, between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM. 700 BLOCK MANOR ROAD Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was observed making a gallant effort fighting the effects of earth's gravity while following his navigational beacons. During the investigation, the officers discovered that the subject had already lost several of these encounters with the ground. As the investigation continued, the officers detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject's breath and noted that he was unresponsive when asked questions. Austin EMS treated the subject at the scene for alcohol poisoning and was transported to a local area hospital for additional treatment. Charges are pending. Occurred on: 3-12-08, at 2:45 AM. 2400 BLOCK SETON Possession of Marijuana / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A UT police observed two non-UT subjects sitting inside an illegally parked vehicle arguing. During the investigation the officers observed a ceramic pipe that contained burned marijuana residue inside the bowl. During a search of the driver, the officers soon discovered a plastic baggy that contained a small amount of marijuana. The subject was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 3-12-08, at 1:56 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 19 alarm calls, 2 medical emergencies, 1 suspicious person report, and 7 unsecured door reports between 03-011-08 and 03-12-08.
