CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Tuesday, 04-08-08 and Wednesday, 04-09-08. ERNEST COCKRELL HALL, 301 East Dean Keeton Theft: An LCD television and TV wall mount was stolen from a basement level student lounge. Loss value: $350.00. Occurred: Unknown at this time. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Theft: A black and orange backpack containing a Blackberry cellular telephone and an MP3 player were stolen after being left unattended next to a third floor basketball court. Loss value: $272.00. Occurred between: 4-08-08, at 11:20 PM and 4-09-08, at 12:23 AM. O'HENRY HALL, 601 Colorado Graffiti: Words written in blue chalk were discovered on the south exterior steps located on the south side of the building. Est. Loss: $50.00. Discovered on: 4-09-08, at 12:16 AM. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Theft: A Sony Ericsson cellular telephone was stolen after being left unattended at a table located on the east side of the building. During the investigation, the officer learned that there were several unauthorized telephone calls had been made. Loss value: $50.00. Occurred between: 4-02-08 and 4-08-08. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Theft: A backpack containing a leather wallet, several credit cards, PDA, and other personal property was stolen as the victim was sleeping inside a third floor room. The victim awoke as the backpack was being stolen. The suspect was described as: Hispanic or Indian male, dark skin, black hair, 20-23 years of age. The unknown suspect was last seen wearing a green T-shirt. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred on: 4-08-08, at 1:45 PM. WOOLDRIDGE HALL, 600 West 24th Street Theft: A Guatemalan cotton purse containing $29.00 in cash, several forms of personal identification, several credit cards and two UT IDs belonging to other UT students was stolen from an unsecured office located on the 2nd floor. Loss value: $44.00. Occurred on: 4-08-08, between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. 500 BLOCK WEST 25th STREET Theft: A silver bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the south side of CMB after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $50.00. Occurred on: 4-08-08, between 3:45 PM and 6:43 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 9 alarm calls, 2 suspicious person reports, 3 suspicious activity reports, and 5 unsecured door reports between 04-08-08 and 04-09-08.
