CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Tuesday, 4-15-08 and Wednesday, 04-16-08. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Disorderly Conduct: Two UT students were discovered arguing in the hallway outside a 4th floor dormitory room. Several other students were attempting to separate both parties. During the investigation, the officers learned the argument ensued over comments that were made towards another student. As the investigation continued, the officers sent both parties to their respective rooms with referrals to the Dean of Students' Office. Occurred on: 4-15-08, at 1:47 AM. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Theft: A grey Raleigh mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the south side of the building after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $650.00. Occurred between: 4-11-08 and 4-15-08. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Theft: An HP laptop computer was stolen from the 2nd floor dining area after the computer was left unattended on top of a table. Loss value: $800.00. Occurred on: 4-15-08, between 12:45 PM and 1:00 PM. W.C. HOGG BUILDING, #2 East Mall Theft: A UT police officer responded to a suspicious backpack that was located on the west side of the building. While investigation the backpack, the officer received a report of a stolen backpack from an unsecured 4th floor office. The officer determined that the suspicious backpack was in fact the reported stolen backpack. As the investigation continued, the owner stated $20.00 in cash had been removed from her wallet. Loss value: $20.00. Occurred on: 4-09-08, at 1:34 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 7 alarm calls, 2 suspicious person reports, 3 suspicious activity reports, and 5 unsecured door reports between 04-15-08 and 04-16-08.
