Crime Prevention Tip of the Day: This has been a very busy week. You can see how just a small group of individuals can cause major problems for everyone. Each one of us is very busy in the course of our day, meeting deadlines and putting out small fires. We need to be vigilant in watching out for each other. There has been a sharp increase in the crimes on campus. When you see something or someone and it causes you to say "hum," notify the police. Several students and staff have done that very thing, which has led to several arrests that are still clearing other related crimes. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 120 alarm calls, 9 suspicious person reports, 11 suspicious activity reports, and 45 unsecured door reports between 04-16-08 and 04-22-08. Contact UT Police at 471-4441 if you have any information regarding any of the above incidents or call 911 regarding suspicious persons, suspicious activities or crime. Your call may help solve or prevent a crime. Campus Watch comments should be directed to Officer Darrell Halstead at 512-232-9634 or Darrell.halstead@austin.utexas.edu .
