Crime Prevention Tip of the Day: There have been concerns raised about SURE WALK. SURE WALK is a student-run program and is run with volunteers. These volunteers encourage students as well as staff to walk in small groups at night. The concern centers around the problem of getting enough volunteers to staff all three locations for SURE WALK. If you are part of a student group or organization and are looking for a community service program, look no further. With finals and the current criminal events at UT, there has been an increase in the requests for escorts around campus. With the increased demand UTPD has stepped up its efforts to help with the escorts. If you must walk alone, stay in well lighted areas where there are other people around, or contact UTPD at 512-471-4441 to arrange for a Sure Walk escort. We are a community; We're Texas. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 15 alarm calls, 3 suspicious person reports, 2 suspicious activity reports, and 4 unsecured door reports between 04-24-08 and 04-25-08. Contact UT Police at 471-4441 if you have any information regarding any of the above incidents or call 911 regarding suspicious persons, suspicious activities or crime. Your call may help solve or prevent a crime. Campus Watch comments should be directed to Officer Darrell Halstead at 512-232-9634 or Darrell.halstead@austin.utexas.edu .
