CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Thursday, 05-01-08 and Friday, 05-02-08. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject attempted to upgrade his seats by moving from the upper level mezzanine to floor seats. The patrons who were occupying those floor seats did not view the subject's upgrading as favorable. During the investigation, the officers detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject's breath and noted that his eyes were bloodshot and watery. The officer saw that the subject could not maintain his balance. During the interview the subject became argumentative and the officers assisted the subject by upgrading his accommodations to Central Booking after being taken into custody for Public Intoxication. Occurred on: 5-01-08, at 10:20 PM. JESTER EAST DORMITORY, 203 East 21st Street Harassment: A UT student reported receiving several harassing and annoying telephone and text messages from another UT student. While the officer was investigating the case the student again began receiving calls from the suspect. Occurred on: 5-01-08, at 11:17 PM. UNIVERSITY TOWERS, 804 West 24th Street Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject contacted 911 to report that a subject was throwing trashcans from a balcony. The UT police were called upon to assist in locating the subject. The Austin Police located a UT student who was positively identified as the subject who had been throwing trashcans at the reporting person. The student received a field release citation and was released at the scene. In addition to the law enforcement action taken, the student received a written referral to the office of the Dean of Students. Occurred on: 5-01-08, at 8:40 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 11 alarm calls, 3 suspicious person reports, 3 suspicious activity reports, and 3 unsecured door reports between 05-01-08 and 05-02-08.
