CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Monday, 06/02/08 and Tuesday 06/03/08. CENTENNIAL PARK, 1500 Red River Criminal Trespass Warning (2 counts): Two non-UT subjects were found loitering under a pedestrian bridge. The pants zipper of one of the subject's britches appeared to be having gravity issues as it was in the down position when the officer arrived. That subject's belt was also unfastened. The nature of the subjects' actions was unknown to the officer. Both subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings. Occurred on 06/02/08 at 7:04 p.m. MAIL SERVICE BUILDING, 2207 Comal Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The gas cap cover to a parked and unattended white Chevrolet Astro van was discovered standing open. What appeared to be a dried gasoline stain was observed on the ground. An undetermined amount of gasoline was stolen from the gasoline tank. Loss value: Undetermined, but often seems to grow each day. Occurred between 05/30/08 and 06/02/08 at 7:25 a.m. Crime Prevention Tip: With the soaring price of gasoline, the theft of gasoline form vehicles becomes more and more of a concern. There are a few things that we can recommend. First, maintain good records of your gasoline purchases and use; note any inconsistencies. Park your vehicle in an area where there will be natural surveillance by passing motorist and pedestrians. If you have a garage at home, use it. Purchase and use a locking gasoline cap. UNIVERSITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 2200 East 6th Street Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was found setting up a camp site on the east side of the property. The subject stated he wanted to sleep at that location, as his place of employment was across the street.
