CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Thursday 06/05/08 and Friday 06/06/08. The RAD program will be holding a daytime class during the week of June 23 through June 26 in the College of Business Administration Building. There is limited space available for this class. The daytime course is not listed on the web-page. To sign up for this daytime class, contact Sgt. Davis at 232-9611. BATTS HALL, #3 South Mall Theft: A wallet containing $10.00 in cash was stolen when it was left unsecured in a 2nd floor office. The wallet was later found in a trash-can located in the 2nd floor elevator lobby. The $10.00 in cash had been stolen from the wallet. The owner of the wallet now keeps her property locked away when she is out of her office. Loss value: $10.00. Occurred on 05/27/08 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Crime Prevention Tip: The owner of the stolen cash did not initially report the crime to the police, but after reading the last few editions of the Campus Watch that person decided to make a police report. Reporting criminal activity as soon as you become aware of it helps the police develop crime trends and patterns. It also allows us to provide assistance to you, our customers. If you become aware of criminal or suspicious activity, contact the police department immediately at 512-471-4441. CENTENNIAL PARK, 1500 Red River Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was found sleeping in the shrubbery located on the east side of the park. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 06/06/08 at 6:00 a.m. ENGINEERING TEACHING CENTER, 204 East Dean Keeton Theft: A set of souvenir coins was stolen from a 5th floor office desk. Loss value: $50.00. Occurred between 06/03/08 at 1:00 p.m. and 06/05/08 at 11:30 a.m. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 11 alarm calls, 3 suspicious activity calls and 13 unsecured door reports between 06/05/08 and 06/06/08. UTPD generally schedules a Defensive Driving Class approximately once a month – based on need. The classes meet in the University Police Building, Room 1.318, located at 2201 Robert Dedman Dr (east of Memorial Stadium). The cost for the course is $25.00 (check or cash) payable on class date. If paying in cash, please bring the exact amount because change may not be available. You will also need to bring your driver's license.
