The subject was found to have consumed alcoholic beverages, but not to the point he was driving while intoxicated. Two glass pipes with burned marijuana residue were found inside the vehicle. A credit card belonging to another person was found in the subject's wallet. The subject stated he “found” the credit card on the ground at his place of employment; a car detail shop. Occurred on 06/12/08 at 2:30 a.m. Crime Prevention Tip: Several items are “found” at service stations and auto detail shops. To keep your property from being “lost” simply don't leave any items in your car when you turn the car over to a valet parking service, a vehicle repair service or an auto detailer. For that matter, you should never leave items inside your car. In addition, you should check your car for any items that may have been “lost” before driving away from such places. 300 West Martin Luther King Blvd. Driving While Intoxicated / Possession of a Controlled Substance: A non-UT subject was stopped after failing to yield right of way to on-coming traffic when the subject pulled his 2000 Lexus 4-door from private drive onto Martin Luther King Boulevard. The vehicle the subject failed to yield right of way to happened to be a distinctly marked patrol vehicle which subsequently made the traffic stop. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated. A plastic bag containing a controlled prescription drug that was not issued to the subject was found inside the vehicle. Occurred on 06/13/08 at 2:05 a.m. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 11 alarm calls, and 1 found property report between 06-12-08 and 06-13-08.
