CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Friday, 06-20-08 and Monday, 06-23-08. COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, 2110 Speedway Suspicious Person: A UT staff member observed an unknown subject sitting inside a restricted area located on the 4th floor. During the investigation, the officer learned that the unknown subject did not appear to be a student. The area was searched with negative results. The unknown subject was described as: White male, 40 years of age, shoulder-length dark wavy hair, and was last seen wearing a short sleeve shirt and shorts. Occurred on: 6-22-08, at 2:03 PM. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was observed setting up a campsite on the north side of the building. When the subject saw the police officer approaching he began to disassemble his camp. As the investigation continued, the officer soon discovered that the subject had received a prior Criminal Trespass Warning. The subject was taken into custody and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 6-22-08, at 7:45 PM. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River Disorderly Conduct (fighting in a public place) / Resisting Arrest / Possession of a Controlled Substance: Three non-UT subjects were reported fighting inside a men's restroom during a boxing match being held at the events center. While attempting to break the fight up, all three subjects resisted and failed to follow the officers' instructions. One officer received minor injuries. Once the three subjects were separated, one was found to be in possession of plastic bags containing a total of 2.4 grams of cocaine. Occurred on 06/21/08, at 9:30 p.m. KINSOLVING DORMITORY, 2605 Whitis Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: UT police officers responded to a first floor dormitory room on a report of an ill subject. Upon arrival officers soon discovered a UT student displaying signs of having an extreme physical reaction to the over consumption of alcohol. During the investigation, the officers soon discovered that that the student was under the legal age of 21 and had been consuming alcohol at a fraternity house. Austin EMS was contacted and treated the student for alcohol poisoning. The student declined to be transported to a local area hospital. Charges are Pending at this time. Occurred on: 6-21-08, at 3:47 AM. TOWNES HALL, 727 East Dean Keeton Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was found wandering around an area reserved for faculty, staff and students. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 06/20/08, at 12:04 p.m. WALTER WEBB HALL, 2500 Guadalupe Criminal Trespass (2 Counts) / Criminal Trespass Warning: A UT police officer observed three non-UT subjects relaxing, sleeping, and smoking cigarettes on the east side of Walter Webb Hall. The officer recognized two of the subjects from prior involvements. During the investigation, the officer verified two non-UT subjects had already received a prior criminal trespass warning for the area. Both subjects were taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and were transported to Central Booking. The third non-UT subject was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the area. Occurred on: 6-21-08, at 5:45 PM. WALTER WEBB HALL, 2500 Guadalupe Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found lowering his britches in the corner of an attached parking garage located on the west side of the building. The subject stated he desperately needed to relieve himself and then proved that need while speaking with the officer. The subject had previously received a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 06/20/08, at 3:49 p.m. 200 West Dean Keeton Possession of Marijuana / Criminal Trespass Warning: A UT police officer observed two non-UT subjects standing near a parked Toyota pick-up truck. The two subjects appeared to be arguing. A third non-UT subject flagged the officer down and reported one of the other two subjects was armed with a handgun. The investigation revealed there was no handgun involved in the argument. A small bag containing a green leafy substance was found inside the pick-up truck. The subject reporting the gun had been harassing the other two subjects while following them from a local bar. The harassing subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 06/22/08, at 12:41 a.m. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 28 alarm calls, 13 unsecured door reports, 5 key assist, 4 Suspicious Persons reports, and 3 medical emergencies between 06-20-08 and 06-23-08.
