CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Wednesday, 08-03-08 and Thursday, 09-04-08. If you have any information pertaining to any of these cases or other criminal or suspicious activity, please contact the UT Police Department at 512-471-4441. AT&T EXECUTIVE CONFERENCING CENTER, 1900 University Ave Graffiti: Words and symbols written in paint were discovered on the side quarter panels of two vehicles parked on the west side of the building. Loss value: unknown at this time. Discovered on: 9-03-08. JESTER EAST DORMITORY, 203 East 21st Street Theft: A UT student reported the theft of her bicycle components, brake calipers and derailleur after securing her property to the bike racks. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Occurred between: 9-02-08 and 9-03-08. MANOR PARKING GARAGE, 2017 Robert Dedman Dr. Criminal Trespass Warning / Assist Outside Agency: A UT staff member reported a non-UT subject was seen wandering through the garage looking into trashcans. During the investigation, the officers located the subject and recognized him from prior incidents. As the investigation continued, the officers soon learned that the subject had four outstanding Outside Agency arrest warrants as well as a prior written Criminal Trespass Warning. The subject was taken into custody for the warrants and was transported to Central Booking. In addition to the law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued another Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred on: 9-03-08, at 9:11 AM. MEZES HALL, #5 South Mall Theft: A purple Bianchi bicycle was stolen from the handrail located on the west side of the building after being secured with an older model Kryptonite lock. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred on: 9-02-08, between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM. MUSIC RECITAL HALL, 2405 Trinity Ave Suspicious Person: A UT staff member encountered a subject who had been told to leave the building on a number of occasions. The subject refused, and used the elevator to enter into another area of the building. During the investigation, the officers searched the entire building without locating the subject. The subject is described as: White male, 6'-03", 240 pounds, with blonde hair. Occurred on: 9-03-08, at 8:12 PM. NEURAL & MOLECULAR SCIENCE BUILDING, 2506 Speedway Theft: A brown Columbia backpack, containing school supplies and a theater textbook was stolen after being left unsecured next to the bike racks located on the east side of the building. Loss value: $75.00. Occurred on: 9-03-08. WALTER WEBB HALL, 2500 Guadalupe Criminal Trespass Warning (2 Counts): Two non-UT subjects were discovered on the east side of the building stopping pedestrians and asking them for money. The officers issued both subjects a written Criminal Trespass Warning and escorted them from the area. Occurred on: 9-03-08, at 5:13 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 20 alarm calls, 4 unsecured door reports, 2 suspicious activity report, 1 medical emergency call, and 1 fire call between 09-03-08 and 09-04-08.
