Be it on foot, in a car or while riding a bicycle, we all share the responsibility of keeping ourselves safe as well as our fellow Longhorns. This is an easy thing to accomplish. We should all follow the posted speed limit on campus of 15 MPH; that includes bicyclist. Of course we all know “stop” means just that – STOP (again – that goes for bicyclists as well. Pedestrians should only cross the road at designated crosswalks. As always pedestrians should look before they enter the roadway – that is just good common sense. Our department has received concerns from the community about hazardous traffic situations. We appreciate the comments and concerns and we trust everyone will do their part to keep the campus rolling forward in a safe manner. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 21 alarm calls, 2 medical emergency calls, 1 welfare concern report, 2 suspicious person reports, 1 unsecured door report, 2 found property reports and 1 light survey between 09-17-08 and 09-18-08.
