Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Monday, 10-06-08 and Tuesday, 10-07-08. TONIGHT IS NATIONAL NIGHT OUT The 25th Annual National Night Out is scheduled for Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the Gregory Gym Aquatic Complex from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and The Brackenridge Apartment Complex Jasper Park from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Come out to meet your neighbors, enjoy food, games, entertainment and a chance to win one of many door prizes. Come out to one of the two parties for your chance to win one of many wonderful door prizes like an i-pod, a free Kaplan LSAT course or GMAT course, water craft rentals from Just for Fun, u-lock bicycle locks, personal alarms or gift certificates from local businesses, internet services and restaurants like Academy Sports and Outdoors, The Clay Pit, New World Deli, Texadelphia, i-Tunes, Pic-A-Prof and many more. BELMONT HALL, 2109 San Jacinto Blvd Theft: A Giant bicycle, (the brand name, not the size of the bike) was reported stolen from the bike racks located on the west side of building. The officer learned that the former owner did not secure his property to the bike rack. Loss value: $300.00. Occurred on: 10-06-08, between 1:05 PM and 1:20 PM. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was discovered passed out and lying on the sidewalk next to a construction site. During the investigation, the officer was able to wake the subject and detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject's breath. The officer had a difficult time understanding the subject's mush mouth, slurred dialect. The subject could not maintain his balance. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 10-06-08, at 9:51 PM. SAN JACINTO PARKING GARAGE, 2401 San Jacinto Blvd Criminal Trespass Warning / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was seen by a UT staff member establishing a campsite in the lower level of the garage. During the investigation, the officer soon discovered that the subject had an outstanding outside agency warrant. The subject was taken into custody for the warrant and was transported to Central Booking. In addition to the law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred on: 10-06-08, at 6:23 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 20 alarm calls, 2 welfare concern reports, 2 suspicious person reports, and 4 unsecured door reports between 10-06-08, and 10-07-08.
