Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Thursday, 12-04-08 and Friday, 12-05-08. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Assault: A UT staff member heard a loud disturbance outside of her office. The staff member discovered a fraternity doing a dance routine. Unlike the Radio City Rockettes, the fraternity was disturbing several tutoring sessions as well as classes. The staff member asked the group to stop and to move their dance routine to another location. An unknown subject pushed the staff member as the group continued to line dance in high step tradition. The staff member again told the group to stop, but a second unknown shoved the staff member and continued with their choreography. During the investigation, the officer learned that both unknown subjects had left the area prior to their arrival. Occurred on: 112-04-08, at 12:28 PM. LITTLEFIELD HOME, 302 West 24th Street Criminal Trespass Warning (2 Counts): A UT staff member discovered two non-UT subjects sleeping in a makeshift campsite. During the investigation, the officer issued both subjects a written Criminal Trespass Warning and escorted them from the area. Occurred on: 12-05-08, at 4:26 AM. MAIN BUILDING, #1 South Mall Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject entered into a third floor office to complain that he had been issued a Criminal Trespass Warning. The subject became abusive towards both staff members that were attempting to help the subject. The subject left the area prior to the arrival of the officers, but returned to the area to continue his complaint. Officers again responded to the area. During the investigation, the officers determined that the subject had received a prior warning. The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 12-04-08, at 1:39 PM. 100 BLOCK WEST DEAN KEETON Theft: A UT student reported the theft of her Sony Ericson cellular telephone after her property was left unattended at a bus stop. Loss value: $50.00 Occurred on: 12-03-08, between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. 1900 BLOCK BRAZOS Assist Outside Agency / Failed to Maintain Financial Responsibility / Driving While License Invalid: A UT police officer observed a Pontiac committing several traffic violations. During the traffic investigation, the officer learned that the UT student driver had two outstanding outside agency arrest warrants. The driver was taken into custody for the warrants. Prior to being transported to Central Booking, the officer discovered that the driver did not have a valid state issued driver's license nor did he possess current insurance for his vehicle. Occurred on: 12-05-08, at 12:40 AM. 2400 BLOCK SAN JACINTO BLVD. Public Intoxication: A UT staff member discovered a non-UT subject sitting next to Waller Creek. The staff member became concerned when it was determined that the subject was bare bottom. During the investigation, the officer located the bare bottomed subject next to the creek enjoying an adult beverage. As the investigation continued, the officer soon learned that the subject had been consuming more than one adult beverage. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 12-04-08, at 4:15 PM. TOWNES HALL, 727 East Dean Keeton Theft: An Apple iPhone was reported stolen from the 6th floor of the Law Library after the cellular telephone was left unattended. Loss value: $200.00. Occurred on: 12-01-08, between 11:15 AM and 12:15 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 23 alarm calls, 3 unsecured door reports, 2 public assist requests, 1 lighting survey and 2 suspicious activity reports between 12-04-08 and 12-05-08.
