Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Monday, 12-15-08 and Tuesday, 12-16-08. If you have any information pertaining to any of these cases or other criminal or suspicious activity, please contact the UT Police Department at 512-471-4441. BURDINE HALL, 2505 University Ave Theft: A brown colored bicycle with butterflies on the frame was stolen from the bike racks located on west side of the building after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred on: 12-15-08,between 11:00 AM and 2:50 PM. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Theft: An Apple Powerbook laptop computer was stolen after being left unattended inside an unsecured 2nd floor study lounge. Loss value: $500.00. Occurred between: 12-10-08 and 12-12-08. PERRY-CASTANEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Theft / Fraud: A black leather purse containing a brown wallet, several credit cards, and several forms of personal identification were stolen after being left unsecured and unattended on top of a table located on the 4th floor. During the investigation, the officer soon learned that several unauthorized charges had been made with the stolen credit cards. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Occurred on: 12-16-08, at 12:06 AM. PERRY-CASTANEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Theft: A pink Apple IPod was stolen after being left unattended on top of a 3rd floor study table. Loss value: $200.00. Occurred on: 12-15-08, at 4:30 PM. 200 BLOCK EAST 21st STREET Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A silver Mercedes was observed traveling at a high rate of speed. During the traffic investigation, the officer immediately detected a very strong odor of burned marijuana inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, the officer discovered a small pink glass bottle, inside the center console that contained a very small amount of marijuana. The non-UT driver stated that she knew the glass bottle was in the console, but did not know how the marijuana got into the bottle. Occurred on: 12-16-08, at 12:01 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 20 alarm calls, 6 unsecured door reports, 2 welfare concern reports, and 3 suspicious activity reports between 12-15-08 and 12-16-08.
