Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Tuesday, 02/03/09 and Wednesday, 02/04/09. Be On the Look Out (B.O.L.O.) Last year, there were several reports to the Austin Police Department regarding a male subject who was assaulting women in areas west and north of campus. Yesterday, the Austin Police Department contacted our office and requested we distribute an updated B.O.L.O. flyer for the suspect in that case. Please see the attached document. If you have any information regarding this subject, please contact the Austin Police Department Sex Crimes Unit at 512-974-5095. If you have any information pertaining to any of these cases or other criminal or suspicious activity, please contact the UT Police Department at 512-471-4441. ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE The University of Texas Police Department will be hosting the 6th Citizen's Police Academy Class. The CPA will be held every Monday night beginning February 23, 2009 (There will be no class during Spring Break Week). The academy will end April 13, 2009 with a graduation ceremony. JESTER CENTER ACADEMIC, 201 East 21st Street Theft: A Dell latitude laptop computer and two Dell Dimension desktop computers were stolen from two different 3rd floor offices. Loss value: $5,200.00. Occurred between 06/12/07 and 12/09/08. Jesse H. Jones Communication Center - Building A, 2504 Whitis Graffiti: A black permanent marker was used to write a word on a wall in elevator #1. Removal cost: $30.00. Discovered on 02/03/09 at 6:09 p.m. 300 West 24th Street Driving While License Invalid: A non-UT subject was stopped for running a stop sign while driving a black Honda. The subject was found to have an invalid driver's license as it had previously been suspended. Occurred on 02/04/09 at 6:15 a.m. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 22 alarm calls, 2 unsecured door reports, 6 lighting surveys and 2 medical emergency calls between 02/03/09, and 02/04/09. UTPD generally schedules a Defensive Driving Class approximately once a month – based on need. The classes meet in the University Police Building, Room 1.318, located at 2201 Robert Dedman Dr (east of Memorial Stadium). The cost for the course is $25.00 (check or cash) payable on class date. If paying in cash, please bring the exact amount because change may not be available. You will also need to bring your driver's license. BCAL provides a central resource for UT faculty, students, and staff who may have concerns about the behavior or well-being of another member of the campus community. By calling BCAL at 512-232-5050, callers may talk with trained staff members who will assist the caller in exploring available options and strategies as well as referrals to appropriate campus support networks.
