Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Thursday, 04-16-09 and Friday, 04-17-09. ENGINEERING TEACHING CENTER, 204 East Dean Keeton Theft: A white K2 mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the west side of the building after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. During the investigation, the former owner of the bicycle located his cut cable lock next to the bike rack. Loss value: $300.00. Occurred between: 4-15-09 at 6:00 PM and 4-16-09, at 6:30 PM. TOWNES HALL, 727 East Dean Keeton Suspicious Person: A UT staff member observed a non-UT subject sleeping inside a restricted area and notified the police. During the investigation, the staff member informed the officer that the subject matched the description of a subject who had been issued a Criminal Trespass Warning the day before. As the investigation, continued the officer learned that the subject had left the building. Occurred on: 4-16-09, at 11:30 PM. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Theft of Service: A UT staff member discovered another UT staff member had used a stolen credit card in order to pay for services rendered. Charges pending. Loss value: $76.00. Discovered on: 4-15-09, at 11:19 AM. 400 BLOCK WEST 21st STREET Public Intoxication: A UT police officer observed two UT students attempting to pick up a third UT student who had fallen. During the investigation, the officer soon discovered the third subject was highly intoxicated and had been in the process of having an extreme physical reaction to the over consumption of alcohol when he fell, face first. As the investigation continued, Austin EMS was notified and treated the subject at the scene. The intoxicated student was not transported to a local area hospital and was released to his sober friends. Charges are pending. Occurred on: 4-17-09, at 2:47 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 24 alarm calls, 6 unsecured door report, 1 public assist request, 2 fire alarm reports, and 2 suspicious activity reports between 04-16-09 and 04-17-09.
