Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Monday, 04-27-09 and Tuesday, 04-28-09. Due to the resent national and local concerns about the Swine Flu, the University of Texas and the University of Texas Police Department would like to remind everyone of the following websites. These sites are designed to provide information to address your questions. http://www.utexas.edu/safety/ http://www.healthyhorns.utexas.edu/ ALMETRIS DUREN HALL, 2624 Whitis Ave Theft: A black Iron Horse mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the north east side of the building after being secured with a U-shaped lock and a self-locking cable lock. During the investigation, the officer learned that the student had not registered his property with Parking and Transportation. Loss value: $300.00. Occurred between: 4-22-09, at 6:00 PM and 4-26-09, at 12:01 PM. CHEMICAL PETROLEUM ENGINEERING BUILDING, 200 East Dean Keeton Theft: A blue Trek mountain bicycle was stolen after the property was secured to the fence located on the south side of the building. The former owner had used a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $300.00. Occurred between 4-24-09, at 12:01 PM and 4-27-09, at 3:00 PM. ENGINEERING SCIENCE BUILDING, 2501 Speedway Theft: A grey GD mountain bicycle was reported stolen from the bike racks located on the west side of the building after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $150.00. Occurred on: 4-27-09 between 5:35 PM and 11:27 PM. JESSE H. JONES COMMUNICATION CENTER, 2504-B Whitis Ave Harassment: A UT staff member reported receiving over 50 harassing and annoying telephone calls from a non-UT subject. The caller was upset about a radio plug as well as being unsatisfied with the type of compensation he had received for his donations to UT. Charges are pending. Occurred between: 3-31-09 and 4-27-09. SANCHEZ BUILDING, 1912 Speedway Suspicious Activity: A UT staff member discovered an unknown subject had entered into another staff member's office, located on the third floor, and created a mess. The staff member observed oatmeal, napkins and other condiments laying on the ground in front of a cabinet. Discovered on: 4-27-09, at 8:00 AM. 2300 BLOCK ROBERT DEDMAN Assist Outside Agency: A UT police officer observed a red Ford Explorer displaying an expired registration sticker. During the traffic investigation, the officer soon learned that the non-UT driver had nine outstanding outside agency arrest warrants. The subject was taken into custody for the outstanding outside agency warrants and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 4-24-09, at 7:04 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 25 alarm calls, 1 fire alarm activation, 2 medical emergency assists, 1 suspicious activity report and 2 public assist requests and between 04-27-09 and 04-28-09.
