These sites are designed to provide information to address your questions. http://www.utexas.edu/safety/ http://www.healthyhorns.utexas.edu/ COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, 2110 Speedway Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject approached a staff member in her office and began to engage the staff member in a conversation about a job until the staff member's spouse showed up in the office. Occurred on 05/02/09 at 5:50 p.m. JESTER CENTER WEST, 201 East 21st Street Theft: A Dell Inspiron laptop computer was stolen from an 11th floor dormitory room. Loss value: $850.00. Both students were coming from the same party mentioned above where they had consumed alcoholic beverages, but not to the point they were a physical endangerment to themselves. Occurred on 05/02/09 at 6:45 p.m. 2100 San Jacinto Driving Under the Influence by a Minor / Consumption of alcohol by a Minor / Failure to Display a Driver License / Evading: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was stopped for driving a blue Mazda 3 at night without its headlamps illuminated. The driver was not able to produce his driver's license when asked to do so. Instead, he handed the officer a bill from Jiffy Lube and a medical bill. The driver was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, but no to the point he was deemed to have been driving while intoxicated. There were five other UT students inside the vehicle who were found to be under the age of 21. All five passengers were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages. Just prior to everyone being cited and release, one of the five passengers took to nerves and decided to see if he could outrun the long arm of the law…he could not. Instead of receiving his citation and being released, he received a ride to over-night accommodations and a morning court date. Occurred on 05/02/09 at 2:00 a.m. 2200 San Jacinto Driving Under the Influence by a Minor: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was stopped for running a stop sign while driving a black Dodge Dakota. Occurred on 05/02/09 at 1:07 a.m. 2300 Inner Campus Drive Public Intoxication: A UT student, who was reported as being “covered in dirt,” was found sitting in the roadway. The student stated he was coming from a party at a local multi-resident home – believed to be the same party listed in the Dean Keeton capers. The student stated he only had “two beers and some mixed drinks.” The student is obviously a prodigy as he believed his date of birth to be either 03/21/08 or 03/21/03. The student was found to be under the influence of “two beers and some mixed drinks” to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself. Occurred on 05/02/09 at 6:00 p.m. 100 West 21st Street Public Intoxication: A UT student was reported as being intoxicated while walking in the street pulling on car door handles. The student was found being assisted by a second UT student. The “Good Samaritan” did not know the intoxicated student and was merely trying to help the student to his dormitory room. The student was not familiar with the date, time of day or his location. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was deemed to be a physical danger to himself. Occurred on 05/01/09 at 9:50 p.m. 300 West 21st Street Public Intoxication / Possession of Fictitious Driver's License: A non-UT subject, who was under the age of 21, was found being carried by a UT student and a second non-UT subject. The subject was not able to stand, let alone, walk on his own. The subject had evidence of having experience an extreme involuntary physical reaction to the over-consumption of an alcoholic beverage on the front of his shirt and the back of his britches (that's Texas for pants). The subject's assistants did not know the subject and stated they had found him at a nearby intersection and were trying to help him to Jester Dormitory. The subject was found to be in possession of a fictitious driver's license. The subject was also found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point Austin-Travis County EMS needed to transport the subject to a local hospital for the treatment of alcohol poisoning.
