Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Monday, 05-04-09 and Tuesday, 05-05-09. KINSOLVING DORMITORY, 2605 Whitis Ave Theft: A UT student reported the theft of U.S. mail from within the Kinsolving mail room. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Reported on: 5-04-09, at 9:00 AM. 300 BLOCK WEST 24th STREET Criminal Trespass Warning (3 Counts) / Criminal Trespass: A UT police officer observed four non-UT subjects utilizing the West Mall fountain as a launching pad in order to perform bike tricks. When the subjects saw the officer approaching, they decided it was time to leave. During the investigation, the officer located all four subjects a few blocks away. As the investigation continued, the officer soon learned one of the subjects had been issued prior Criminal Trespass Warnings in other areas of campus for the same reason. The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and was transported to Central Booking. The remaining three subjects were given Criminal Trespass Warnings and were escorted from the campus area. Occurred on: 5-04-09, at 8:48 PM. 400 BLOCK EAST 23rd STREET Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject reported another non-UT subject was creating a disturbance while on one of the shuttle buses. The officers met the bus at its next stop and located the suspect as he disembarked. During the investigation, the officers issued the subject a written Criminal Trespass Warning and escorted him from the campus area. Occurred on: 5-04-09, at 11:21 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 15 alarm calls, 2 callbox alarms, 2 suspicious activity reports, 3 unsecured door reports, 1 lighting survey, and 4 public assist requests and between 05-04-09 and 05-05-09 Contact UT Police at 471-4441 if you have any information regarding any of the above incidents or call 911 regarding suspicious persons, suspicious activities or crime.
