Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Thursday, 05/14/09 and Friday, 05/15/09. ALMETRIS DUREN RESIDENCE HALL, 2624 Whitis Ave Theft: A blue Schwinn mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the northeast side of the building after being secured with a U-shaped lock. Loss value: $250.00. Occurred between: 03-13-09 and 03-23-09. TRINITY PARKING GARAGE, 1815 Trinity Ave. Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping next to the entrance located on the west side of building. During the investigation, the officer issued the subject a written Criminal Trespass Warning and escorted him from the area. Occurred on: 5-14-09, at 10:55 AM. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Assault: A non-UT subject reported he had completed a “rolling stop” on his bicycle when an unknown subject reached out and slapped him on the shoulder. The slap caused the subject pain and discomfort. The unknown subject was described as: white male, 40 to 50 years of age, 6'-3”, with curly grey hair. The subject was last seen walking towards the FAC wearing a UT polo shirt and tan pants. Occurred on: 5-14-09, at 6:47 PM. UT ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 1616 Guadalupe Harassment: A UT staff member reported receiving several offensive and lewd telephone calls from an unknown caller. Several additional lewd calls were left on the staff member's voice mail from the same caller. During the investigation, the officer discovered the calls were being made from a fax machine located in another state. Occurred between: 5-13-09 and 5-14-09. 2600 BLCOK SPEEDWAY Leaving the Scene Collision: A UT student discovered an unknown subject had moved his Honda motorcycle, upon closer inspection the student discovered damage to the right side of his vehicle. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Occurred between: 5-13-09, at 4:00 PM and 5-14-09 at 4:00 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 10 alarm calls, 3 “Police Help” Call Box activations, 1 fire alarm activation, 3 unsecured door reports, 1 suspicious activity report, 1 suspicious package report, 1 found property report and 1 trashcan fire between 05/14/09 and 05/15/09 Contact UT Police at 471-4441 if you have any information regarding any of the above incidents or call 911 regarding suspicious persons, suspicious activities or crime.
