Report for 06/12/2009

Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Thursday, 06/11/09 and Friday, 06/12/09. O. HENRY HALL, 601 Colorado Public Intoxication: A UT student was found on the south porch of the building acting as if he was looking for a public restroom (for lack of a better phrase). The student had a difficult time standing and needed to sit down during the interview. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was deemed to be a danger to himself. A nearby friend of the student was summoned to assume care, custody and control of the student. While waiting for the friend, the student fell asleep and subconsciously realized his current location was about as public of a restroom as he was going to find. Occurred on 06/12/09 at 2:35 a.m. UNIVERSITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 2200 East 6th Street Criminal Mischief: An unknown object was used to cut a 46” by 24” hole in the chain-link fence located on the east side of the school grounds. No items on the school grounds appeared to have been tampered with or stolen. Repair cost: $50.00. Occurred between 06/10/09 at 2:30 p.m. and 06/11/09 at 8:00 a.m. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 19 alarm calls, 2 fire alarm activations, 1 “Police Help” callbox activation, 1 suspicious person report, 1 motor vehicle collision, 1 public assist and 1 unsecured door reports between 06/11/09 and 06/12/09.
