Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Monday, 06/15/09 and Tuesday, 06/16/09. JACKSON GEOLOGICAL SCIENCES BUILDING, #10 East Mall Burglary of a Building: A window was broken out of a 5th floor office door. A Dell notebook computer and an external hard drive were stolen from the office. Repair cost: $75.00. Loss value: $2,160.00. Occurred between 06/12/09 at 4:30 p.m. and 06/15/09 at 8:00 a.m. JACKSON GEOLOGICAL SCIENCES BUILDING, #10 East Mall Theft: An Optima LCD projector and a pair of Shure model 115e noise reducing headphones were stolen from a 5th floor office. The investigation did not reveal any indication of forced entry. Loss value: $1,000.00. Occurred between 06/14/09 at 12 noon and 05/15/09 at 8:00 a.m. PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, 510 East 23rd Street Theft: A white MacBook laptop computer was stolen from an unsecured 2nd floor room. Loss value: $1,200.00. Occurred between 06/13/09 at 2:00 p.m. and 06/15/09 at 9:00 p.m. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 18 alarm calls, 1 “Police Help†callbox activation, 2 suspicious activity reports, 1 light malfunction report, 1 medical emergency report and 8 unsecured door reports between 06/15/09 and 06/16/09. UTPD generally schedules a Defensive Driving Class approximately once a month – based on need. The classes meet in the University Police Building, Room 1.318, located at 2201 Robert Dedman Dr (east of Memorial Stadium). The cost for the course is $25.00 (check or cash) payable on class date. If paying in cash, please bring the exact amount because change may not be available. You will also need to bring your driver's license. BCAL provides a central resource for UT faculty, students, and staff who may have concerns about the behavior or well-being of another member of the campus community.
