Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Wednesday, 08/19/09 and Thursday, 08/20/09. L. THEO BELLMONT HALL, 2109 San Jacinto Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was reported as entering a 2nd floor office after the subject had been issued a criminal trespass warning. When the subject was located, it was discovered she had previously been issued a written criminal trespass warning 5 days earlier. Occurred on 08/19/09 at 3:36 p.m. ROBERT A. WELCH HALL, 105 East 24th Street Burglary of a Coin Operated Machine (2 counts): The doors to feminine hygiene dispensing devices located in a 5th floor women's restroom and a 4th floor women's restroom were pried open with an unknown tool. Approximately $6.00 in quarters was stolen from the two machines. Repair cost: $90.00. Loss value: $6.00. Occurred between 08/18/09 at 8:00 p.m. and 08/19/09 at 6:00 p.m. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Burglary of a Coin Operated Machine: The door to a feminine hygiene dispensing device located in a 4th floor women's restroom was pried open with an unknown tool. Approximately $5.00 in quarters was stolen from the machine. Repair cost: $45.00. Loss value: $5.00. Occurred between 08/18/09 at 1:00 p.m. and 08/19/09 at 1:45 p.m. Crime Prevention Tip of the Day: For the parents of this year's incoming freshman class, the countdown for the fall 2009 semester has started. Moove-In has begun. There are several things that you can start doing to get your student ready. - All property is engraved with a State issued DL or ID number - Bicycle is registered with Parking and Transportation and a two lock locking system is being used to secure the bike to a bike rack. - Have you registered for the Women's Self Defense class? - Has your child developed a safety plan? - Have you pre-programmed the UTPD telephone number into your cellular telephone? If not the number is 512-471-4441. - Double check to ensure you are signed up for the emergency text messaging system.
