CRIME PREVENTION TIP OF THE DAY: As you can see there has been an increase in the number of reported bicycle thefts this week. Since January 17, 2010 there have been a total of 12 reported stolen bicycles. The vast majority of the stolen bikes were targeted because they had been secured with a self-locking cable lock. Historically, but sadly, many students look upon the theft of their bicycle as the price for going to school at UT. Together we can reduce the number of stolen bicycles by working as a team. Report any and all suspicious activity you see in or around the bike racks to the UT Police. Help educated your friends or a total stranger with the proper way to secure a bike. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 15 alarm calls, 1 public assist request, 1 suspicious activity report, and 0 unsecured door reports between 02/16/10 and 02/17/10.
