Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Thursday, 02/18/10 and Friday, 02/19/10. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Theft / Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was observed entering into the building without purchasing a guest pass. The staff member notified the police department. During the investigation, the officers located the subject playing basketball. The subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the area. No charges for Theft of Service were filed. Occurred on: 2-18-10, at 5:10 PM. PERRY-CASTANEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Theft: A UT staff member stopped a subject from exiting the building when the theft detection sensor sounded. The subject, a UT student, admitted he had a book in his bag but it was his personal property. The staff member removed the book and discovered it was in fact property belonging to the library. When confronted, the subject told the staff member, “Whatever. I'm leaving.” During the investigation, UT police officers located the subject inside another building. Officer discovered the subject had changed clothes, but was positively by the staff member. Charges are pending. Loss value / Recovered: $50.00. Occurred on: 2-18-10, at 6:08 PM. 300 BLOCK WEST 24th STREET Criminal Mischief: Two unknown subjects were reported encasing several bicycles and one of the statues located on campus in Saran wrap. The subjects ran when a Parking and Transportation vehicle was approaching their location The unknown subjects were described as two White males. One subject was wearing a green shirt and the other a tan colored shirt. One subject was carrying a purse that contained the Saran wrap. Loss value: $0.00. Occurred on: 2-19-10, at 1:17 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 11 alarm calls, 1 emergency call, and 3 unsecured door reports between 02/18/10 and 02/19/10.
