The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 3-16-10, at 9:08 AM. 200 BLOCK WEST 6th STREET Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was observed leaning against a tree looking at pictures on a digital camera. A few minutes later the subject fell to the ground. During the investigation, the officer detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject's breath. The officer asked the subject for his driver's license and was handed a credit card. The subject informed the officer that he had been to several downtown establishments with a friend. He stated his friend abandoned him for a female friend. The officer allowed the subject to try and contact his friend. The subject removed his digital camera from his pocket and began dialing his friend's phone number. The subject was perplexed by the fact his friend was not answering his telephone. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Once there the subject began exhibiting signs of the onset of a physical reaction to the over-consumption of alcohol. He went to the first trashcan like object he could focus on, and began the age old ritual. Jail staff became upset with him when they realized, the object…was not a trashcan but their shredder. Due to the subject's intoxication level, the subject was transported to a local area hospital for medical treatment. Public Intoxication charges were filed.
