Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Thursday, 04/01/10 and Friday, 04/02/10. Featured Service: Behavior Concerns Advice Line (BCAL) The Behavior Concerns Advice Line (BCAL) is a partnership among the Office of the Dean of Students, Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and the University of Texas Police Department (UTPD). BCAL provides a central resource for UT faculty, students, and staff who may have concerns about the behavior or well-being of another member of the campus community. By calling BCAL at 512-232-5050, callers may talk with trained staff members who will assist the caller in exploring available options and strategies as well as referrals to appropriate campus support networks. ENGINEERING SCIENCE BUILDING, 2501 Speedway Suspicious Activity: A UT staff member discovered several poster sized pictures of some of the faculty members had been hung inside a 4th floor hallway. Discovered on: 3-31-10, at 7:47 AM. E.P. SCHOCH BUILDING, #6 East Mall Theft: A grey Kona mountain bicycle was reported stolen from the bike racks located on the north side of the building after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $650.00. Occurred on: 4-01-10, between 8:30 AM and 8:30 PM. PARKING LOT 104, 1900 Block North IH-35 Criminal Trespass: Several unidentified subjects reported a non-UT subject was attempting to solicit money from several students standing at a bus stop. During the investigation, the subject explained to the officers that he worked in the West Campus area, but his fuel pump was messed up. The officers soon learned the subject had two prior Criminal Trespass Warnings for various areas around campus for similar activity. The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 4-01-10, at 9:30 AM. ROBERT L. MOORE HALL, 2515 Speedway Theft: A grey and black BMX style bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the west side of the building after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $60.00. Occurred between: 3-31-10, between 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM. SAN ANTONIO PARKING, 2420 San Antonio Street Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was observed putting unauthorized advertisements on several vehicles located on the 4th level of garage. The subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the area. Occurred on: 4-01-10, at 1:45 PM. 1900 BLOCK BRAZOS Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was seen staggering and stumbling as he attempted to maintain his bearings. During the investigation, the officers detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject's breath. The subject was verbally combative towards the officers. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booing. Occurred on: 4-02-10, at 1:02 AM. 2100 BLOCK SPEEDWAY Theft: A black and white Schwinn mountain bicycle was reported stolen from the bike racks located on the north side of CBA after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $700.00. Occurred on: 4-01-10, between 7:30 AM and 3:40 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 9 Alarm Calls, 1 Fire Call, 3 Suspicious Activity Reports, 1EMS call, and 0 Unsecure Door Reports between 04/01/10 and 04/02/10.
